Road Trip Reveal

About this design

A surprise road trip they open on their phone. A red convertible drives up a coastal road, a big green road sign flips to THEIR name, and the sat-nav draws the route to "? ? ?". Then they collect a road-trip ticket, scratch the gold windscreen, and find out where they are heading.

You set it up yourself on your phone in a few minutes, then send them one link by WhatsApp, text or email. They tap it, and the story plays on their own phone.

How it works

1. BuyPay securely. Your set-up page opens straight after.
2. Add your detailsName, date, time and place. Your invitation is made there and then.
3. Make it yoursChange the words, photos and music from your phone, whenever you like.
4. Send your linkShare by WhatsApp, text or email and watch the RSVPs arrive.

What they see

• A red convertible drives up a coastal road on their screen, seen from above
• A big green road sign flips to their name, "? ? ?" for the destination and their travel dates
• The sat-nav on the dashboard shows DESTINATION "? ? ?" for them while the route draws itself
• A "Collect your road-trip ticket" button. The ticket comes up with their name, "The scenic one" route, a front window seat and a gold windscreen
• They scratch the gold windscreen with a finger. Their destination photo appears, the "? ? ?" on the ticket turns into the place name, the dates fill in and confetti flies
• Your message appears on the road-trip ticket, and they get buttons to say thank you and add the trip to their calendar
• Works on any phone, iPhone or Android, in the phone's browser. No app, nothing to install, nobody signs up
• Nothing gives the destination away before the scratch
• Sent by WhatsApp it arrives as a picture card, "Something has arrived for Sophie", not a bare link

Your destination photo

• When they scratch the gold windscreen, a photo of their destination appears.
• Over 100 destinations are ready to go, for example Cornwall, the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District, Provence, Nice, the Algarve, the French Alps, Lake Garda, Dublin, Edinburgh, Norway and many more.
• Is your destination not on the list? Message us on Etsy. We'll add a photo for it at no extra cost.
• Prefer a general picture instead? Choose a beach, city, snowy mountains, countryside or "above the clouds" photo. This works well for a surprise trip, or for keeping the exact place secret until the day.

Your message

• Add your own message (up to about 250 characters). It appears on the road-trip ticket after the scratch.
• Stuck for words? Ask us via an Etsy message and we'll write one for you. Tell us who it is for, the occasion and the trip.

A birthday, Christmas, an anniversary, a couple's getaway, a "we're going on a road trip!" surprise for the kids, or a gift they will want to film. Made for a road trip, a staycation, a weekend away or any holiday by car.

Important information

• This is a digital item made for phones. Nothing is posted to you or to them
• Your Etsy download is a start-here guide, not the surprise itself. You set the surprise up online in the editor
• It is a web page they open on their phone. It is not a printable, not a video file and not a Canva template: no Canva needed
• The road-trip ticket is a gift, not a real ticket. It does not book or confirm any travel
• The QR code on the road-trip ticket is decoration only and does not scan to anything
• The sound is part of the effect, so ask them to turn their phone's sound up
• The pictures, video clips, music and sounds are made with AI tools and finished by us. The names and messages in our pictures are made-up samples
• All sales are final, as with all digital items. Message us before buying if you are unsure about anything
• For one surprise. Please do not resell or share the design
