Airport Trip Reveal

About this design

A surprise trip they open on their phone. A real jet climbs up their screen, the terminal doors slide open, and the big departures board flips to THEIR name. Then they collect a boarding pass, scratch the gold window, and find out where they are going.

You set it up yourself on your phone in a few minutes, then send them one link by WhatsApp, text or email. They tap it, and the story plays on their own phone.

How it works

1. BuyPay securely. Your set-up page opens straight after.
2. Add your detailsName, date, time and place. Your invitation is made there and then.
3. Make it yoursChange the words, photos and music from your phone, whenever you like.
4. Send your linkShare by WhatsApp, text or email and watch the RSVPs arrive.

What they see

• A jet flies up their phone over sunrise clouds
• Glass terminal doors slide open onto a busy departures hall
• The big board flips, row by row, to their name, "? ? ?" for the destination, their travel dates and "GATE A7 BOARDING"
• A "Collect your boarding pass" button. The pass comes up with their name, their dates and a gold window
• They scratch the gold window with a finger. Their destination photo appears, the "???" flips to the airport code (for example CDG for Paris) and confetti flies
• Your message appears on the pass, and they get buttons to say thank you and add the trip to their calendar
• Works on any phone, iPhone or Android, in the phone's browser. No app, nothing to install, nobody signs up
• Nothing gives the destination away before the scratch
• Sent by WhatsApp it arrives as a picture card, "Something has arrived for Sophie", not a bare link

Two looks, chosen for you

The Christmas look (decorated doors and hall with Christmas trees) plays from 1 November to 6 January. The sunrise year-round look plays the rest of the year. It is picked by the date on their phone.

Your destination photo

• When they scratch the gold window, a photo of their destination appears.
• Over 100 destinations are ready to go: Tenerife, Majorca, Paris, Rome, New York, Dubai, Lapland, the Maldives, Florida, Santorini, Iceland, Thailand, Barbados and many more.
• Is your destination not on the list? Message us on Etsy. We'll add a photo for it at no extra cost.
• Prefer a general picture instead? Choose a beach, city, snowy mountains, countryside or "above the clouds" photo. This works well for a surprise trip, or for keeping the exact place secret until the day.

Your message

• Add your own message (up to about 250 characters). It appears on the boarding pass after the scratch.
• Stuck for words? Ask us via an Etsy message and we'll write one for you. Tell us who it is for, the occasion and the trip.

Perfect for

A birthday, Christmas, an anniversary, a honeymoon, a "we're going on holiday!" surprise for the kids, a girls' or boys' trip, or a gift they will want to film.
