About this design

Press the button and watch the claw: pink teddy or blue?

This is a claw machine gender reveal that your family and friends open on their phones. They see a photo-real claw machine with an ornate ivory and gold cabinet, standing in an elegant room and packed with about 30 pink and blue teddies. At the top: "Baby <your surname>" (or your names) and your due date.

They press the button, on the screen or on the machine itself. The claw travels over, presses into the pile, grips a teddy by the neck and lifts it out, and the teddies around it shift into the gap. It carries the teddy to the chute and drops it, and the teddy lands in the prize hatch. The camera follows the whole grab, or guests can pick "Full machine" or "Look at hatch".

The colour of the teddy is the answer: pink for a girl, blue for a boy. Then a card appears: "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!", with your message (or a warm line of ours), "With love, <your names>" and confetti, with a drumroll and a fanfare as the answer appears.

You send one link by WhatsApp or text. Every person who opens it presses the button for themselves, so everyone gets the surprise.

What your guests see

• A photo-real claw machine in an elegant room, full of pink and blue teddies, with "Baby <your surname>" (or your names) and your due month or exact day at the top
• One press of the button (on screen or on the machine) and the claw goes to work: it grips a teddy, lifts it out, carries it to the chute and drops it into the prize hatch
• The camera follows the grab. Guests can also choose "Full machine" or "Look at hatch"
• A pink teddy for a girl, a blue teddy for a boy
• A reveal card: "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!", your message, "With love, <your names>", and confetti
• Twins: the claw goes twice and both teddies land in the hatch. The card says "It's twins!" with "Two little girls", "Two little boys" or "A boy and a girl"
• Up to six of your photos with captions, after the reveal: guests tap "See our photos"
• "Watch again" to see the grab once more
• Optional: a countdown to a reveal time you choose. Until then the answer stays locked on our server, so nobody can peek, and guests can add the time to their calendar
• Music: you pick one of 4 songs or use your own MP3, or turn the music off. The claw makes its machine sounds, then a drumroll and a fanfare play as the answer appears (once, at the end, for twins), and there is a mute button
• Opens in the phone's browser. Nothing to install and nobody signs up

How it works

• 1. Buy, then open the PDF in your Etsy downloads. It has one link: tap2open.co.uk/start
• 2. Type your Etsy order number and your name
• 3. Add your first names (a family surname if you like), your due date (a month or an exact day), and whether it is a girl, a boy or twins
• 4. Add up to 6 photos with captions, a message if you want one, choose your music, and a reveal time if you want a countdown
• 5. Open your link and try it yourself. You can change everything later, on your phone
• 6. Share your link on WhatsApp or by text. On WhatsApp the link shows "Baby <your surname>" and your due date, never the answer
• THE ANSWER STAYS SECRET UNTIL THE BUTTON IS PRESSED
• Nothing on the screen hints at boy or girl until a guest presses the button and the claw picks out its teddy. You type the answer in when you set the reveal up, so you will know it. If you would like to be surprised too, ask a friend or relative to enter that part for you.

• Your reveal is a web page that your guests open on their phones. It is not a video file and it is not printable
• The machine photos, the room, the teddies, the sample parents and their photos, and our 4 songs were made with AI tools and finished by us. The machine sounds, the drumroll and the fanfare come with the design. Your reveal uses your own photos
• All sales are final, as with all digital downloads. Message us before buying if you are unsure about anything

Questions

• Can I use my own music? Yes: upload an MP3 you are allowed to use, or pick one of our 4 songs, or turn music off. Guests do not choose the music.
• How long will my link work? Your reveal link stays live until two months after your due date.
• Do I need an app or design software? No. You set it up on your phone, and there is no app and no account to sign up for.
• Do my guests need an app or an account? No. They tap your link and it opens in their browser.
• Can we keep the answer secret from ourselves? No: you enter the answer when you set it up, because the page needs to know it. Ask a friend or relative to type that part in if you want to be surprised too.
• Can I do twins? Yes. Choose twins and say what each baby is. The claw goes twice and both teddies land in the hatch.
• Can I choose when it opens? Yes, if you want to. Pick a reveal time and the answer stays locked until then.
